Do you add fat to cook your burger patties?

No extra fat is added in our burger patties, which are 100% pure beef. They are cooked on a double-sided grill, called a “clamshell”.

What are your fries made of?

All natural, farm fresh potatoes are used to make the McDonald’s World Famous Fries. We use only those types of potatoes with the right attributes that allow us to get the perfect size, taste and texture for a McDonald’s French fry — slightly crisp with a tender bite on the outside, fluffy like a “baked potato” on the inside, hot and steamy, golden, long, thin, perfectly salted fries.

I’ve heard you make your fries in beef fat - is this true?

No. Our World Famous Fries are made from specially selected potatoes and fried in Canola palm oil. No seasoning other than plain salt is added.

What kind of lettuce do you use in your salads?

All McDonald’s salads include local salad varieties. We use four varieties of lettuce - Iceberg, Romaine, Spring Mix and Radicchio - and other gourmet greens that are fresh and seasonal.

Are there any preservatives in your salads?

We do not use preservatives of any kind in our salads. All McDonald’s salads are made to order in our restaurants, using a premix of fresh, gourmet greens.

What type of milk does McDonald’s use for desserts?

Our Milkshakes, Sundaes and McFlurry desserts are all made using our reduced fat ice cream, which is made from fresh, quality cream, whole milk, and skim milk solids.

What kind of oil do you use?

McDonald’s uses a Canola-blend palm oil. All fried menu items in McDonald’s restaurants are now 0 grams trans-fat per serving. This includes our delicious French Fries, Hash Browns, all non-grilled chicken choices and the Filet-O-Fish.
