Are your eggs even real? Why do they look so perfect?
So, you’d like to know if our eggs are even real and why our eggs look so perfect. At McDonald’s South Africa, we work extremely hard to make our meals look the best that they possibly can. To hear that our eggs look almost too perfect is a huge compliment for us. And to answer your question, yes our eggs are 100% real! There are two reasons that our eggs look so fantastic. Firstly, we use farm fresh, A grade eggs sourced from approved suppliers. The second reason our eggs look so perfect is because of the way that we cook them. All our eggs are steamed in a specially designed circular metal egg ring. These egg rings give our eggs their perfect look and shape. We pride ourselves in ensuring our eggs are cooked and served in this standardised manner across all McDonald’s restaurants in South Africa. We hope that clears things up for you.Get to know all our food
We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and it’s important to get the right amount of protein to keep you going. This is why we work tirelessly to source the best laying chickens that produce the best possible eggs. The eggs are washed with warm water before being inspected both visually and electronically at the farms from which they are sourced, for any cracks or flaws. The eggs are then packed for shipment to the McDonald’s restaurants. So, every single egg is inspected before it makes the Egg McMuffin® grade. Coupled with our customised egg preparation techniques, we are taking all the necessary steps to make sure that your eggs always look and taste perfect.
