Following the food ethic trend, McDonalds places food safety as the highest priority in all its restaurants and remains committed to providing customers with the highest quality food that is prepared according to global and local best practice and standards.
With McDonald’s South Africa serving approximately eight-million customers every month, it confirms that its Big Mac is made with only 100% South African certified ground beef, a dash of salt and pepper and sourced from local farms. In its quest for total transparency consumers can now find out exactly what goes in the build and make-up of their favourite burgers and meals – either in store on their digital menu boards, tray-liners and leaflets or through the Know Our Food platform – www.knowourfood.co.za – to view and search for videos detailing the ingredients used and showing their SA suppliers and their manufacturing process.
